The Detection system is an integral part of the QUAKE Connect platform, serving as the core of our early warning technology. It utilizes advanced technologies to accurately detect natural disasters such as earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanic eruptions, and avalanches. This system relies on a wide network of interconnected devices, including QUAKE Alert, QUAKE Fiber, and IMU-equipped smartphones, which continuously monitor seismic activity and environmental changes in real time.
Key Features of the Detection Technology:
IMU-Based Detection: Devices such as QUAKE Alert and smartphones are equipped with Inertial Measurement Units (IMU). These sensors detect even the smallest vibrations and ground movements, enabling early identification of potentially dangerous seismic events. The IMU data is transmitted in real time to the QUAKE Connect platform, where it is analyzed and processed.
DAS Technology (Distributed Acoustic Sensing): QUAKE Fiber utilizes DAS technology, operating through fiber optic cables to capture acoustic signals. This approach allows for monitoring ground movements across vast distances, facilitating early detection of events such as earthquakes and tsunamis before they escalate.
Real-Time Analysis via QUAKE Connect: Once an anomaly is detected by any of our devices, the data is sent to QUAKE Connect within milliseconds. Here, it is cross-referenced with other incoming information to ensure maximum accuracy. This real-time analysis allows for immediate warning signals to be triggered, ensuring swift response times.
Global Detection and Network Support: Each device in the Quake Network contributes to a global, decentralized network of sensors.
